Learning Log Grading Rubric  can be found under junior documents.

The Learning Log is worth 50 points each week.  
DO NOT  COPY THE TOPIC TO YOUR LEARNING LOG! 
It will be considered wasted space! 
Remember to save to your Documents in the Learning Log folder using the date (example: aug31) as the file name! (5 extra points if your log is turned in by 8:35 am or 12:10 pm)

Weekly Topics:

Learning Log #23: March 12 - Reflect on your time here at AAST. If you are staying next year, tell why. If you are leaving, tell wahy? Reflect on anything else about your future education.

Learning Log #22: March 5 - Reflect on things from the last couple of weeks: Black History contest, 3rd Quarter Interims, Doodle 4 Google, preparing for shadowing day, etc. You can even discuss the next AAF-CC meeting and why you want to go or why you don't want to go.

Learning Log #20 & 21: February 19 & 26 - Service Learning Reflective Essay. Essay must be a minimum of three full pages and no more that five pages. Due on or before February 26th.

Learning Log #19: February 12 - Reflect on everything you experienced at the Grand Strand Technology Fair. If you did not attend, you can write a fictional story about DC or technology in general.

Learning Log #18: February 5 - Reflect on our 3D-Structure work on Wednesday. What did you learn that will help you with future designing? You may also reflect on anything else that you have learned or participated in over the last couple of weeks at AAST.

Learning Log #17: January 29 - Choose two "You Can Make a Difference Posters" and critiques each of them. Things to write about: effectiveness in conveying the theme, impact of overall design, color choices, use of text, and layout. Add whatever else would help the designer next time.

Learning Log #16: January 22 - What advice would you give to a sophomore interested in coming to AAST and Digital Communications next year? (Thanks Raymond)

Learning Log #15: January 8 - It's a new year - 2010. What are your goals for this year? You can discuss; health, exercise, work, family life, school, future career, hobbies, personal growth, etc.

Learning Log #14: December 10 - What are your plans for your two week off over the holidays?

Learning Log #13: December 4 - Reflect on what you have learned to do in Illustrator and Photoshop. What do you like, not like, what is easier to do in one as compared to the other, etc.? Tell about your holiday card ideas. You will design a minimum of two.

Learning Log #12: November 20 - What makes the Academy unique? How is it different from your base school? What have you experienced that has surprised you, amazed you, or touched your heart? What makes AAST special to you?

Learning Log #11: November 13 - Reflect on your first quarter grades in all subjects. What goals do you have specifically for 2nd quarter? When and where will you arrange your next shadowing experience? This month? December? Half day or full day? (Reminder: You must have all work done to miss DC class or all classes.)

Learning Log #10: November 6 - Job Shadowing career assessment which includes your reflection of the experience.

Learning Log #9: October 30 - Reflect on Spirit Week at AAST. Reflect on the Package Redesign Project. Reflect on the View Finder project.

Learning Log #8: October 23 - What are you planning to wear for each day of spirit week, next week? (Spirit week is a big deal at AAST-so you do NEED to participate) Monday=old people day, Tuesday=dress like the future day, Wednesday=we are Pre-Med, and Thursday=Halloween.

Learning Log #7: October 9 - What is the most interesting experience you've had so far in the DCIM major? What is your favorite thing about this major? The people around you? The opportunities? Etc. (thank you morning juniors for this log idea)

Learning Log #6
: October 2 - Reflect on the poster projects you critiqued yesterday. What are your thoughts about the whole project process, how did your group do sharing the responsibilities, how well did your group follow the directions, what are your thoughts about the critique of all the posters, etc.

Learning Log #5 : September 25  - What information about colleges was most useful, most informative, or brand new to you when Ms. Aglietti visited us this week? How will you use this information in planning for your future? What are your future plans right now?

Learning Log #4 : September 18  - Summer Project Presentations reflection. Discuss your feelings about your presentation. What presentations were great? What information was most interesting to you? Why were they the most interesting to you? Was it the content or because the presenter kept your attention? How was listening to these presentations helpful to you?

Learning Log #3 : September 11  - Reflect on the president's speech and the goals you have set for yourself for school, local opportunities, health & exercise, future college plans, etc. Who is your best adult supporter, and how does this person help you?

Learning Log #2 : September 4  - What are your first impressions of the iMac computers, the Illustrator program, the field experience opportunities being offered to you, and the opportunity to attend the AAF-CC professionals monthly meetings?

Learning Log #1 : August 28  - What did you learn during orientation week at AAST about your classes, about the school, about the teachers, and about the students that choose to come here? What is your first impression of AAST?
